The Health Check has determined that folders configured in the \SearchServer\SearchCrawler.exe.config file are not the default values.
If the folders are not the default values, when a re-index is attempted search inconsistencies could occur as not all data objects could be included in the index.
On the system reporting the problem, using File Explorer, navigate to <data drive>:\SearchServer\SearchCrawler.exe.config
Double click the file and open it in Notepad
Scroll through or search for the element titled "databases"
There could be two potential defaults:
If the system has no Buddy Server, maybe in the case of a Central Server the configuration will look as below:
<databases>
<add key="NWS" value="H:\NWS" />
<add key="ENPS1" value="H:\ENPS1" />
</databases>
This configuration presumes that your server is configured with the H: drive for your ENPS data and wire data. If your drives are configured differently, you will see different drive letters ahead of the NWS entry and the Primary Server Name entry.
If the system has a Buddy configured which will be the norm in most cases, the default would look like the example below:
In this example, ENPS1 is the server the technician is logged into and ENPS2 is the Buddy Server. The key value should be the name of the server, and the value be the <data drive>:\<name of the server>. The attribute listed as the value must exist.
<databases>
<add key="NWS" value="H:\NWS" />
<add key="ENPS1" value="H:\ENPS1" />
<add key="ENPS2" value="H:\ENPS2" />
</databases>
This configuration presumes that your server is configured with the H: drive for your ENPS data and wire data. If your drives are configured differently, you will see different drive letters ahead of the NWS entry and the Primary and Buddy Server Name entries.
