The Health Check has detected that there is an issue with the IIS configuration. Generally these are not critical from a functionality perspective.
ENPS, Playbook or Mobile will work if the system is not configured as reported. However, to ensure optimal functionality, we recommend that certain aspects are configured as listed. For example, we strongly recommend that each application use its own application pool so resources for that application are not divided among multiple applications. Furthermore, as the IIS AppPool recycles to renew leases and resources, it is recommended that the Primary and Buddy servers recycle at different times so that there is no possible interruption of service.
Should any of the issues highlighted be observed, revisting the configuration is recommended.
There is an option to allow the Health Check to auto configure a number of attributes as per the threshold if needed/wanted.
The length of time an IIS log file is maintained, the maximum size, fields to include in the log file, application pool policies, start modes and set the correct application pool for the appication. This includes: the logging rollover, max size and logging fields and the correct application pool for the application as configured below.
1. If a website is not running, attempt to restart it manually via the IIS console within Windows.
2. From a command line, run the following to list the configured websites, there bindings, ports and state - %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd list site
To start a site if in a stopped state, from a command line, run %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd start site /site.name:"Website Name"
NOTE: If you have any questions, please contact AP ENPS Support before making changes to the HealthCheck configurations.
There are thresholds set within \configurables\hc-custom_config.ps1. With the default being:
[string]$global:HC_Preset_IIS_Logging_Rollover = "Hourly" # Can be Hourly, Weekly or MaxSize (Default = Hourly)
[string]$global:HC_Preset_IIS_Logging_MaxSize_Size = 1073741824 # Size of IIS log file in bytes if MaxSize selected as Rollover type (Default = 1073741824)
[string]$global:HC_Preset_IIS_Logging_Fields = "Date,Time,ClientIP,UserName,ServerIP,Method,UriStem,UriQuery,HttpStatus,Win32Status,TimeTaken,ServerPort,UserAgent,Referer,HttpSubStatus" # Fields to include in IIS Logs
The above are only set automatically if the following is enabled in \configurables\hc-custom_config.ps1
$global:HC_IIS_Enable_Property_To_Be_Set = $false # If true, then the IIS properties listes above will be set when the HC runs (Default: $false)
